The genealogy room at McComb offers researchers numerous resources, including a large collection of local and general genealogical books, microfilm and fiche, family papers, and local history files.
The microfilm collection includes the Enterprise-Journal dating back to the 1890's, other local newspapers, Soundex Index to U. S. Census from 1880, 1900-1930, and the U. S. Census from 1790-1930.  Heritage Quest, link at left, offers online searches from the 1790 census to the 1930 census (not yet complete), PERSI historical and genealogical resources, Revolutionary War records, and other resources.

The microfilm/fiche reader is capable of sending files to the genealogy computer for e-mailing or saving to a disk.  No outside disks are allowed but are available for purchase for one dollar.  Printing is also available for .15 per page.

The genealogy room features a tower with two stained-glass windows commissioned for the library.  The west window is a painting of the old library (formerly a post office).  The south window depicts a train to represent McComb's roots as a railroad town.  The east and north windows display clocks, one with Roman numerals representing the past, and the other a modern clock representing the present.
Mission-styled furniture gives researchers comfortable seating and plenty of room to spread out materials.
